Project Overview

StyleTrail is an online marketplace that helps beauty space owners monetize their available space and provides professional work environments to barbers, hair stylists, and all other beauty professionals.

As the Lead UX/UI Designer at StyleTrail, I spearheaded a transformative project from 2017 to 2022. My role involved conceptualizing and executing designs for an online marketplace catering to beauty space owners. Leveraging remote work, I crafted an interactive prototype that streamlined user experiences, empowering barbers, hair stylists, and other beauty professionals to thrive in professional work environments.

Process

Crafting an unparalleled user experience within the beauty industry involved a comprehensive approach. To capture essential business requirements, I initiated direct engagement at beauty salons, conducting insightful one-on-one interviews with five diverse barbers, hairstylists, and massage therapists. Subsequently, I facilitated user testing at beauty seminars and schools, employing a clickable prototype to refine our solutions based on real-world feedback.

Solution

My approach to addressing the challenge within the beauty industry involved devising a solution that directly tackled the issue of renting vacant chairs. This innovative approach seamlessly integrates mobile and web platforms, offering a unique solution to optimize the rental process for salon owners and professionals alike.

Outcomes

My contribution to the project encompassed the delivery of essential UX assets, including a clickable prototype, user flows, and personas. These artifacts significantly facilitated the project's success in the marketplace, ensuring a seamless user experience and effective implementation of design solutions.
